I am running for Midland Town Council because…

I spent my first term building the foundation for Midland’s progressive future. I am seeking re-election to continue that work – to deliver municipal services more efficiently, keep taxes low and bring new jobs and wealth to our community. I have the experience and the skills to make this happen.

My vision for Midland is…

Midland will be recognized as a healthy community where citizens are actively engaged and enjoying a high quality of life. Midland will be a balanced community with satisfying employment opportunities for youth and families and a healthy lifestyle for seniors. Midland will become the urban centre for North Simcoe.

I will accomplish this vision by focusing on the following three things…

(a) Building a supportive economic environment and encouraging our employers and citizens to be successful

(b) Keeping taxes below the rate of inflation while improving the quality of municipal services

(c) Taking a leadership role in ensuring that essential healthcare services are available for our citizens, while growing new jobs in the healthcare field

Describe your top three accomplishments that make you a good candidate for Council. For current or previous members of council, please focus on your top three in that role.

(a) Kept tax rate increases below the rate of inflation, as promised

(b) Led the four North Simcoe communities in building an economic foundation for our area, specifically the Economic Development Corporation for North Simcoe.

(c) Invested time with a broad range of citizens, groups and businesses, helping them to become actively engaged in building Midland’s future
