QUESTIONNAIRE RESPONSE

Jonathan Reid
Running For: Councillor Ward 2

I am running for Midland Town Council because…

I feel I will be a lifelong resident in Midland and want to be a part of the towns future development, I want to be a different voice than the one the general public generally wound associate with a typical politician. I am a regular guy and I am concerned about general issues affecting everyone not just a particular demprgaphic or specific issue.

My vision for Midland is...

to increase the towns diversity by trying to balance the towns older and younger population buy helping to create attractive reasons for individuals both young and old to come and stay, play and live in Midland. By trying to attract individuals with multiple talents and ideas that can positively add to our community on a variety of levels.

I will accomplish this vision by focusing on the following three things:

a.) Working on ways to make midland standout from our nebiouring communities, as well as complement our nabiours strengths and weaknesses.

b.) actively exploring ways to engage the community in more effective ways so that a larger amount of the residents ideas, concerns and wished are heard when making decision that will affect us all.

c.)

Describe your top three accomplishments that make you a good candidate for Council. For current or previous members of council, please focus on your top three as a council member:

a.) I was actively involved and in the 2014 election and spent a great deal of time talking to residents and members of the community, this was very enlightening as I had a chance to hear many new, thoughts, ideas, concerns and many residents ideas about what we were doing right and areas were we could improve.

b.)although I was not successful in my bid for Mayor in 2014, I wanted to take a more active role in different aspects and the workings of the Town of Midland, I was appointed to the sign variance committee and the committee of adjustments, and have had a good experience working with many different individuals within the town of Midland over the past 4 years.

c.) I have many years of experience as a RN working with all different walks of life and with many different individuals within our community as well as nabiouring communities and feels I have a very good idea of the strengths and weakness we have as a community, I feel I am generally very approachable and have a strong connection with the average resident in Midland, and am able to articulate my thoughts and feelings very well as well as the thoughts, feelings and ideas of others, in a clear non biast way, which will be a strong asset in furthing the best intrests in the general public in mind, in any further
