Positing Running For: Ward 2 Councillor
I am running for Midland Town Council because…
I was born and raised in Midland and have seen a steady decline in Midland’s prosperity. I believe my passion, my eagerness to work hard and always learn and my commitment to do everything possible to make this town succeed is the kind of leadership Midland needs for long term success.
My vision for Midland is…
A safe, complete community and an ideal place to raise a family. A place where skilled work is more plentiful and students can choose to return home to quality jobs. A town run by caring, passionate community leaders who place the interests of 17,000 people ahead of their own. A place that hosts more events for visitors and residents to participate in and enjoy, helping build the local economy and community spirit.
I will accomplish this vision by focusing on the following three things…
a) Cutting costly red tape that wastes time and often prevents good things from happening at all.
b) Keeping tax increases affordable for residents and in line with inflation to encourage growth.
c) Creating friendly and focused policies to encourage people to live, work and raise a family here.
Describe your top three accomplishments that make you a good candidate for Council. For current or previous members of council, please focus on your top three in that role.
a) Elected by my co-workers to a leadership position representing them in workplace employment matters.
b) Purchased my home in Midland at the age of 21.
c) Created a dynamic debate group to discuss local issues with people who care about this community but are not able to regularly watch or attend council and community meetings.
