QUESTIONNAIRE RESPONSE

Todd Langevin
Running For: Councillor Ward 2

I am running for Midland Town Council because…

I want to a serve my community. To add fresh eyes and a new voice. To participate in the discussions and decisions that affect all of us.

My vision for Midland is...

Strong fiscal leadership. Prosperous economic development. Partnerships that lead to growth. Attracting new business activity and new jobs for well skilled, locally educated workforce.

Promote smart investing in our own community resources and social structures from which we all benefit.

Community engagement. More open doors than closed. Representing people not special interests.

I will accomplish this vision by focusing on the following three things:

By supporting the mandate of EDCNS. Exploring future economic opportunities that fit with our community.

Supporting local business and employers here and making it affordable to do business here.

Promoting good education. Skills training and support for retraining as the market evolves.

Working to make sure the we collectively benefit from our local assets and services. Focus on issues of community safety and ensuring we’re responding quickly to social challenges with a system that works for those in need.

By welcoming community engagement and participation. By being part of a council that’s willing to listen to its residents. By demanding truth and transparency with your elected officials.

Describe your top three accomplishments that make you a good candidate for Council. For current or previous members of council, please focus on your top three as a council member:

Returning to school to learn an new skill  and pursue a new career passion. Challenging myself to learn new things at any age.

Becoming a Volunteer Firefighter in my community at 42. Just like my father and brother did in our hometown before me. I wanted to give back and learn a new skill. The training, sacrifice and commitment that’s required only motivated me more.

Being a dad to a wonderful and loving 8 year old. Parenting can be a challenge. A skill that requires patience, sacrifice, compassion and humility. All relatable qualities when it comes to being an elected representative for the great people of Midland.

Teamwork makes the Dream work.
