Running For: Mayor
I am running for Midland Town Council because…
I make a difference! I listen to all ratepayers, not just special interest groups, to bring about the best possible solution(s) for all.
Experience has taught me that the PEOPLE are the town and their wants and desires are council’s fuel!
My vision for Midland is…
Becoming a destination of choice for visitors and investors alike! Thereby allowing our local economic engines an opportunity to retool and develop prosperous positions with which to employ our present and future work force.
I will accomplish this vision by focusing on the following three things:
- Compliment Economic Development by aggressive Community Development to demonstrate our strengths and desirability to both residents and potential visitors/investors that we are an excellent place to Live, Work, Visit and Play
- I accept as true that taxes are a necessary evil that must be addressed and utilized in a positive manner, so as to reflect the needs ALL ratepayers, through Prudent Financial Management and Practical Budgeting, whereby all services and new/renewal projects, operational/capital are thoroughly reviewed to ensure purpose and necessity.
- I believe that new technology emerging daily has a tremendous effect on our environment and its sustainability and we need to constantly explore t implications and usefulness for the benefit of ALL, especially to maintain/enhance Midland’s natural beauties and development controls to ensure that of our community retains its character and splendor for future generations
Describe your top three accomplishments that make you a good candidate for Council. For current or previous members of council, please focus on your top three as a council member:
During my 31yrs on Midland Council I was a part of many different teams. Focusing on only 3 out of a possible 30 top picks, would not only diminish the value of all the other accomplishments, but set me in a light that would show me to be self serving. . I was/am a team player and cannot claim them as my accomplishments, but rather the teams, as I was a participant.
